i'm sure that most of you know the story of how we met (or if you don't i'll get into that in another post, another time). the thing that some of you might not know is that, before meeting each other in august 2008, b and i worked across the street from each other for about 3 years. and when i say across the street, i mean literally across pennsylvania street in carmel. i can look out the window of my office and see his office building. we sometimes talk about all the times we revolved around each other at the local subway, or stopping in at the meijer on a lunchbreak to buy cat food, or the countless number of ways we existed in the same space but not conscious of each other yet.
when i heard this song by ben folds with lyrics by the painfully sweet nick hornby it immediately made me think of us. and it made me thankful we became aware of each other at just the right moment.
